Retro pottery lamp base made by Walter Gerhards, West Germany circa 1960, pottery is intact with some vibrant tones of yellow, green, orage and vermillion on a rough « lava textured » background.

Walter Gerhards was founded in 1959 in Ransbach-Baumbach Germany by Walter Gerhards and his wife Elfriede Gerhards. Their production was focused on ceramic plant pots but later switched to ornamental lighting and other decorative ceramics. A large range of decorative items were produced, including light fixtures, vases and plates etc. Ceramic lights (standing or hanging) were supplied to lighting companies who completed the electrical components.

The lamp has been restored with new electrical cord light and new bulb holder. 

It has been paired with a burnt orange handmade lampshade.
